Expectations
The first thing that comes to mind is whether or not we are appropriate to fit in with society and whether or not I will receive social acceptance after completing this or that. We have become so obsessed with pleasing other people by making up assumptions about what they could want from us that we have gone insane. The fact that both Draupadi and Krishna had dark skin was brought up at one point. Being a female, Draupadi was extremely aware of this and typically avoided social situations because she felt inferior. She once questioned Krishna about why society views her skin tone negatively.
"People often see you as you see yourself," he said. This makes it clear that we frequently put aside our desires or passions in order to consider what other people may say, think, or perceive of us. However, why should we consider other people when our life and decisions need to be unaffected by the opinions of others? There are many different kinds of expectations, such as those pertaining to people, emotions, the workplace, etc. Additionally, we meet the expectations of people throughout our lives, right up until the moment we pass away. However, what about our hopes, aspirations, and desires? The sad truth is that our wishes do not always come true.
